âïžWHAT in the đ is Pansa Blanca, you ask? Itâs the genetic twin of Xarel-lo, the base grape for so many sparkling Cava đ„ wines from Spain. In Alella, Xarel-lo is Pansa Blanca (literally âwhite bellyâ) for the appearance of the grape. We import Ivori Blanc, a 100% Pansa Blanca wine made by Xavi Garcia of @alellamarfil1906 The winery sits right on Spainâs Mediterranean coast, just north of Barcelona, imparting a wonderful salinity to the wine and making it the perfect pairing for oysters, seafood, summer!
